Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how tough it can be for small business owners to turn their dreams into reality. Honestly? It was intimidating. So, I chose the “safe” path, a job that checked all the boxes. I went to college, got a degree in Cybersecurity (spoiler alert: never used it), and jumped into the 9-to-5 grind. I always felt like I was searching for more. Better pay? Sure. A work environment that didn’t drain my soul? That’d be nice. Something I was actually passionate about? A girl can dream.
I bounced from job to job, feeling lost and burnt out, until I started freelancing on the side—designing websites and managing social media for small businesses. What started as a way to make some extra cash turned into something I actually loved. Working with entrepreneurs who were out there hustling, chasing their dreams, and making things happen for themselves was inspiring. I realized this new chapter brought not just joy but also the freedom and growth I’d been craving.

Have you ever done something just because you thought it was what you were supposed to do? Same! Growing up, I didn’t have a clear calling for a career. I was smart, but nothing really stood out to me. Being raised by a single mom, I knew one thing for sure: I needed a stable job that paid well. I even remember telling people I wanted to be a trash truck driver because I was told they made good money—lmao (I swear, ask my siblings)!
Naturally, I pursued nursing. I worked in every type of facility imaginable but still never felt like I belonged. Then, while working as a nurse, I started helping a company with their social media and branding. That’s when everything clicked. I realized how much I loved designing and creating content for businesses. It wasn’t just a job—it was something I felt passionate about, something that finally felt right.
I’m building a career around something I truly love and enjoy—not something I’m counting down the hours to escape.
