You know that feeling when you walk into a store and it’s so messy you don’t even know where to start? That’s exactly how people feel when they land on a website that’s… a little all over the place. We’ve seen it all — from broken links to homepage chaos — and today we’re spilling the tea on the biggest website mistakes we see (and how to make sure they’re not happening to you).
Mistake #1 – Confusing Navigation
Paragraph: Your navigation is basically your website’s GPS. If people can’t figure out where to click, they’re gone. Keep it short, sweet, and clear. Five to seven items max. Bonus points if your menu makes sense to someone who’s never heard of your brand before.
Mistake #2 – Text Walls (AKA Too Much to Read)
Paragraph: If visitors wanted to read a novel, they’d go to the library. Break up your text with headers, bullet points, and visuals. Short paragraphs make it easier for people to find the good stuff fast.
Mistake #3 – No Clear Call to Action
Paragraph: Every page should have one clear “next step” for your visitors. Whether that’s “Book Now,” “Donate,” or “Learn More,” make it obvious and repeat it throughout the page.
Mistake #4 – Ignoring Mobile
Paragraph: Over half of your visitors are probably on their phones. If your site looks like a hot mess on mobile, you’re losing them before they even scroll. Always check your design on multiple devices.
Mistake #5 – Outdated Design
Paragraph: Styles change. Your website doesn’t need a full makeover every year, but if it still looks like it was built in 2013… it’s time. A modern, strategic refresh can keep your brand relevant.
Your website doesn’t have to be perfect — but it does have to work. If you’re ready for a site that actually reflects your brand and gets results, we can help.
